কবিতায় গারো জাতিগোষ্ঠীর সাহস সংগ্রাম ও সংস্কৃতি তুলে আনেন কবি মিঠুন রাকসাম। কবিতার ভাব প্রকাশে তিনি গারোদের মাতৃভাষা ব্যবহারে যেমন সাবলীল তেমনি বাংলাতেও সমান পারদর্শী। ‘শব্দায়ন – এ স্ট্যান্ডআপ পোয়েট্রি প্ল্যাটফর্ম’-এর উদ্বোধনী আয়োজনে বাংলার পাশাপাশি তিনি মান্দি ভাষাতেও কবিতা পাঠ করেছেন।

In his poetry, Mithun Raksam brings to life the courage, struggles, and vibrant culture of the Garo community. Equally fluent in both his mother tongue and Bangla, he moves effortlessly between the two languages to express the depth of his themes. At the inaugural event of Shabdayan – A Stand-Up Poetry Platform, he recited his poems not only in Bangla but also in Manding, celebrating the richness of his linguistic and cultural heritage.

Shabdayan, a standup poetry platform
Aims to create a space where contemporary art, storytelling, and spoken word intersect, uplifting the voices of popular, emerging and underrepresented poets, artists. It features performances combining spoken word poetry, dance, and music in various languages. This is an initiative by Atopor Shabdayan in partnership with Goethe-Institut Bangladesh, empowered by UCSI University Bangladesh Branch Campus, and supported by Mattra.
